  1. Note: This is a description to be used if PFROI is "ARC'ed" for
  2. distribution on an electronic bulletin board.

  4. PFROI.ARC is an ARC'ed (compressed) file containing a full function 
  5. version of the PFROI portfolio management shareware program (Ver 2.4+).  
  6. PFROI features complete portfolio management including computation of 
  7. return on investment (IRR method) before and after tax.  To use, you 
  8. must de-ARC PFROI.ARC using the program ARC.EXE or ARCE or some similar 
  9. program available on many BBS's.  Users who register with the program
  10. publisher (Techserve, inc., POB 70056, Bellevue, WA 98007, Telephone: 
  11. 206 747 5598 / 800 826 8082) will receive an enhanced version of PFROI 
  12. containing additional features.  (Regis. $25 + $3 S&H, subj. to change)

  14. PFROI Portfolio Shareware

  16. The PFROI portfolio software on this disk (or PFROI.ARC) is a shareware 
  17. version of Techserve, inc.'s portfolio management software.  Features 
  18. include:

  20. * easy data input format (unlike clumsy formats found on many 
  21.   commercial packages)
  22.      
  23. * computation of true return on investment (IRR method) on
  24.   portfolio and securities within before and after taxes.
  25.   (again a key feature omitted on many commercial packages)
  26.      
  27. * numerous reports including capital gains, dividend & interest
  28.   reports useful for tax preparation and a detailed open lot
  29.   report useful for tax planning.

  31. * several tax lot assignment methods including FIFO, average
  32.   cost and specific assignment.  Tax rates are user-configurable
  33.   (flexible for tax law changes) and estimated taxes computed (again
